Expired date on promotions.

Postby kelvinbrown » Mon Dec 19, 2011 5:57 am

I just posted a promotion to my calendar.

http://squareberry.com/Soulfood_cookoff ... 369455_318

The event is on Jan 14th, 2011.

I scheduled the promotion to show up M, W, and Friday, until the event date.

However, right in the middle of the promotion page, is: Expires 12/30/2011.

Basically, whatever date you click on shows the promotion expires at that time.

Is there a way to choose when the promotion expires and have that show up?

I can schedule how long the promotion shows on the calendar, but it looks confusing if the coupon shows an expired date that is before the actual event.

This is a bug with repeating Promotions. Each occurrence of the promotion is inheriting the "End Date" of the original promotion scheduled. So every repeat is showing the same Expiration as the first one.

We are working on a solution to this.

Thanks for the updates.

I am still going to use it as is. Maybe the error will actually get people to pay attention, and or inquire.

I think we will be disabling the "Expiration Date" display temporarily on all promotions while we work out a solution. You would then be able to include text for an expiration date in the Promotions Description or Promotion Details if you so choose.

We are working on a new method for selecting the Expiration Date that will function better with repeating promotions. As always, we appreciate the feedback.

Disabling absolutely works for me.

Because, I am going to be using it a lot, not as a coupon, but simply to highlight an event.

Because it looks good on mobile displays, I found a few people responded better to that than to a full regular calendar display.

It's just nice a sharp and the bold characters and images jump out at the reader on a cell phone.
